The internship capstone projects follow two different tracks with some common overlap in the basics.
- Management Track: Easier for non-technical students that introduces them to basics of Python coding. Gives them hands-on examples of some readymade applications. Their work extension during the internship is more around business applications of such models in the capital markets industry.
- Engineering Track: A slightly more technical project that provides the same basic level of practical experience to some select real-world applications. Their work requires extension on the business applications and includes the technical applications of the same.
The internship is divided into 3 guided segments that is designed to provide some real-world application and some self-driven extension of work on top of it, depending on the track chosen. The three segments are broadly divided as below:
- Segment 1: 40% of the work (Week 1 and Week 2) This is more of looking at actual working models in select examples and extending the already working models into some new select examples. This segment would be handheld to build confidence of the candidate.
- Segment 2: 40% of the work (Week 2 and Week 3) Depending on the track chosen each would be provided with certain achievable goals and certain stretch goals. The idea is to show the candidates the direction of work in the industry so that they can get a flavor of how to self-chart a path to success.
- Segment 3: 20% of the work (Week 4). It is the process of documenting and presenting their learnings and future goals during and after the internship.
The internship completion certificate will be awarded to all students that complete at least Segment 1 of the internship in a timely manner and attempt Segment 2 in a satisfactory manner.
